Gina Lopez, KapitBisig Para Sa Ilog Pasig project director. KBPIP has set its sights on the Philippines setting a new record for the largest number of participants in a foot race in the Guinness World Records. KBPIP and race organizers hope to raise P20 million from this year’s race. Proceeds will go to the rehabilitation of the two-kilometer Estero de San Miguel, located a few meters behind Malacañang, and one of the 48 tributaries that drain into the Pasig River, contributing to its pollution. At the end of the day, Pasig is not just my river. Pasig is everyone’s river and everyone’s responsibility. If we all feel the same way, there is no way the river will not be rehabilitated.
